So as the title states, today i participated in the 'Uni in a Day' experience at Macquarie University. As i placed my registration slightly late i could only take the lectures that were left, but overall i was fairly happy with what i got.
So to start the day, i had to get up abnormally early for the holidays: 6:30. I didn't realise that at 6:30 in the morning the sun was out. Dad dropped me off at Tasha's house at about 7:40 and by 8:29 we had arrived at Macquarie Uni. Honestly it took at lot of convincing on my behalf for mum to allow me in a P platers car for such a long distance.
First they had an introductory session, which was actually very entertaining. I didn't realise how many international opportunities mac. offered, which is what i am after.
My first lecture was focused on learning German. It was hard! Most of the lesson was conducted in German, and i think i was the slowest learner in the class. But it was a good experience. I know for sure that i want pursue international studies in university, but i have always been hesitant as to whether i want to continue my Spanish studies or learn a complete new language. I feel that if i continue Spanish, i will approach it in a laid back manner, but i really want to go to South America for an extended period of time to improve my Spanish.
So the next lecture, i followed Tasha to one of her psychology ones about violence and media. Quite interesting and i feel that it applies to both my career options: journalism and law. I stayed in the room for the next lecture, which was Gothic literature. Honestly if you had never studies Gothic literature before the lecture would have been so boring. But i knew about half of the texts that she said the students studied and she even went into a bit of detail about Romanticism, which helps me with my current studies.
Finally lunch arrived. We had to wait in a huge queue, but lunch was free!! They gave us so much today: free stationery, free food, free drink.
I had lunch with Tasha and Reta, both from mmc :)
They we joined another queue for the photo booth challenge. Hehe if we win we get a polaroid camera each. Our completed sentence stated: Macquarie uni is MaQUESTical.
Finally, me and Tasha checked out the Spanish lecture and enquired about the Spanish course for next year. We headed home, through a lot of traffic at about 2:10 and i was home about 3:30.
Wow this is a lot to translate, but i need the practise. Today Ms Sosa, my Spanish teacher sent my mum an email confirming that she had released the article that she had written about me. http://stansw.com/experiencias-de-clase/
So in order to live up her faith in me (as she labelled the article 'A special student' i need to keep practising.
Hoy participé en la experiencia de 'La universidad en un Día' en la universidad de Macquarie. Puse mis registros más tarde, así que sólo pude escoger las lecturas que faltan, pero en total estaba feliz con las lectures que tuve.
Al principio del día tenía que levante demasiado temprano para las vacaciones, a las 6:30. No he realizado que a las seis y media de la mañana el sol brillaba en el cielo. Mi padre me dejó a la casa de Tasha a las 7:40 y a las 8:30 llegamos a la universidad de Macquarie. Era difícil para convencer a mi madre a permitir a estar con Tasha en su coche por el largo viaje.
Primero la universidad tuvo una sesión con las introducciones, que era muy entretenido. No he realizado cuantos oportunidades internacional la universidad tiene en realidad. Eso es que yo quiero hacer.
La primera sesión se enfocó en el lenguaje de Alemán. ¡Era muy difícil! La mayoría de la lección estaba en Alemán, y yo pienso que yo era la alumna más peor del clase. Pero era una buen experiencia. Yo estoy segura que quiero estudiar los estudios internacionales en la universidad, pero siempre estaba vacilante si debo continuar mis estudios en Español o aprender un lenguaje nuevo. Yo siento si yo continuar los estudios de Español no voy a tomar las lecciones en serio, pero quiero viajar a Suramérica por un largo tiempo para mejorar mi hablando.
En la próxima sesión, seguí a Tasha a su lectura de psicología sobre la violencia y la media. Bastante interesante, y también era bueno para el periodismo y la ley. Quedé en esta habitación para la próxima sesión, sobre la literature gótica. Si no he estudiado la literature gótica antes, la lectura habría sido muy aburrido. Pero yo supe los textos los que la professor habló. También ella hablaba sobre romanticismo, que ayudarme con mis estudios ahora.
Finalmente el almuerzo llegó. Tenemos que esperar en una cola muy larga, ¡pero el almuerzo era gratis! Había muchas cosas gratis: lapiceras y papel, comida y bebida.
Comí el almuerzo con Tasha y Reta, ambos del clases de mmc. :)
Entonces esperamos en otra cola para un desafio con un foto. Si ganamos, tenemos una camera del polaroid. Nuestra oración dice: La Universidad de Macquarie es MaQUESTical.
Finalmente, Tasha y yo fuimos a la sesión española investigamos sobre el curso de español para el año que viene. Entonces volvimos a casa a las 2:10. Era mucho tráfico y yo llegué en casa a las 3:30.
Eso es mucho para traducir, pero necessito la ayuda. Hoy, Señora Sosa, mi profesora de español envió un email a mi madre para decir que ella pusó el artículo sobre yo en el internet. Así que para continuar su fé en yo, (porque el artículo se llama 'Una Alumna Especial') tengo que practicar.
